Nurturing physiotherapy careers

Thirty-five early career Physiotherapists attended the inaugural South Eastern Sydney Local Health District Physiotherapy Early Career Networking Event last week at the Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital. The event included a workshop on ‘Career Journeys – Tips, Tricks, Traps’.

This inspiring and informative event brought together early career clinicians from across the District to hear senior leaders talk about their own professional journeys; and give their advice for those looking to take on future leadership roles in the discipline.

Tobi Wilson, SESLHD Chief Executive, Claire O’Connor, SESLHD Director of Allied Health, and Daniel Treacy, SESLHD Physiotherapy Advisor presented on the day. This was followed by an engaging Q&A panel session where attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and take part in meaningful discussions on growth, leadership, and development.

“A heartfelt thank you to all our incredible speakers, and to the hospital managers for supporting early career staff to attend this valuable event,” said Joseph Dirckze, SESLHD Physiotherapy Early Career Network Chair.

“The Physiotherapy Early Career Network is designed to support clinicians with less than five years of experience through workshops, resources, and networking opportunities. Our aim is to empower early career physiotherapists to grow in confidence, build strong professional connections, and take meaningful steps in their career progression and leadership journey.”

The event was generously supported by Smart Salary Packaging.
